Welcome to English Talkers

We all know that English is the official language of most countries in the world.  English is spoken as a native language by around 375 million and as a second language by around 375 million speakers in the world.  Ever since British ruled the world, the popularity of English language increased at a much more rapid speed than anyone could imagine.  This language is simple and lucid, and because of this, it is a much more preferred language than any other languages in the world.

As we know, English is the legacy of the British to most countries in the world and it is like a window to the world.  English is practically everywhere in the online world these days.  So, good control over English is an asset in today’s world of growing competition.

People who do not know English face many problems in day-to-day life.  So, it is very important to know English.  Everyone should make an effort to learn this beautiful language so that they can communicate properly.  Good communication is an art and the ability to speak English well is a prerequisite for any profession.  Studies also show that learning another language enhances the academic skills of students by increasing their abilities in reading, writing, and mathematics.  People who communicate in at least two languages are assets to the communities in which they live and work.

The telecommunications industry has provided us with the opportunity to communicate on a worldwide basis through English.  To keep pace with this new global marketplace, it has become very essential to learn this language thoroughly and be able to communicate fluently with everyone, both at home and around the world.

A sincere attempt has been made through this site to provide practical help to all those who feel handicapped in speaking English and are not confident of how to go about it.

In this site, Spoken English, Written English, Grammar, Abbreviations, Eponyms, Acronyms, etc., have been discussed thoroughly.  This site provides everything about English language.

Before you begin to learn English, always keep the following guidelines in mind:
·         Try to make English learning as fun as possible for yourself.
·         Whether you understand or not, keep listening to radio stations like BBC or others per your choice, watch TV shows in English, and read as many books, articles, etc., as you can.  This will help you to get familiar with English words, phrases, speaking styles and so on.
·         Be a good listener.
·         Do not be afraid of making mistakes at the beginning and do not hesitate.  Even native English speakers often make mistakes and do hesitate at times.
·         Find at least one person who you can talk to freely (or you can join discussion forums from the web) to practice speaking.  It will be an added advantage if you have a good friend with good control over English who can clear your doubts.
·         Buy yourself a proper dictionary, and whenever you come across an unfamiliar word, look it up.  The best way to remember a word is to tick the word that you have learned from the dictionary and fold the upper-hand corner of the page, so that you can refer to it later if needed.
·         Share whatever you learn with others.  This will not only increase your fluency and confidence, but also help your brain to store the information.
